Mayor Roy Paslay called the February 17, 2004 Lecompton City council meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Council was present with the exception of Cyndi Treaster. Also present were the City Clerk, City Superintendent and City Attorney.

Mark Tunstall made a motion to approve the bills. Tim McNish seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Tim McNish made a motion to approve the minutes with one correction. Tim McNish seconded the motion to adjourn instead of Cyndi Treaster. Ed Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Hamby, from BG Consultants, was present to discuss the water project. He estimated it would cost $2,000 for the project design. No action was taken.

Troy and Lisa Herschell were present on behalf of Sylvester Rothwell. He has questions about dividing his property. The council suggested they consult an engineering firm to do this properly.

Dan Hinrichsen was present to discuss the web page. Ed Smith made a motion to have Dan Hinrichsen set up the web page. Marsha Paslay seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mayor Roy Paslay appointed Nancy Howard and Kathy Fair to the Planning Commission. Ed Smith made a motion to approve the appointment. Mark Tunstall seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The council discussed the citizen request to use the housing recapture money. This was tabled until the next meeting.

The drainage problem off the Chuck Nehrbass property was discussed. Mark Tunstall made a motion for the city attorney to contact engineering firms for advice. Marsha Paslay seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The council discussed Seventh Street. No action was taken.

Marsha Paslay left at 8:45.

Ed Smith made a motion to include the south end of Whitfield and Simons Streets in the road project this year. Tim McNish seconded the motion. Motion carried.

People renting the community building were discussed. NO action taken.

The A-frame the san spreader is hung on was discussed.

The council discussed getting electricity where the sand and salt is kept.

It was decided to get some new tables for the community building.

The council discussed the Kansas Rural Water conference.

A cell phone was discussed.

Mark Tunstall made a motion to adjourn. Ed Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried.
