August 14, 2006 Lecompton City Council 6:45 P.M. Special Meeting Minutes

6:45 P.M. Mayor Roy Paslay opened the Special Meeting requested to discuss sewer issues on Halderman Street. City Council President Tim McNish and Council members Chuck folks and Bruce Liese were present. 6:48 Council Members Mark Tunstall and Ed Smith were present. City Superintendent Justin VanWinkle and City Clerk Sandy Nichols were present. Residents Patricia Blanchat and Scott Norris were present. Justin presented the council members with information he had regarding the sewer line at 510 Halderman area. After discussion, Ed made a motion to waive the sewer connection cost and permit Patricia Blanchat and Scott Norris to tap into the city sewer line. Chuck seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

6:57 P.M. Chuck made a motion to adjourn. Ed seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

August 14, 2006 Lecompton City Council 7:00 P.M. Special Meeting Minutes

7:00 P.M. Mayor Paslay opened the City Council Special Meeting with the Lecompton Planning Commission. Chairperson Greg Trendel opened the PC meeting. PC members present were: Secretary Kim Richter, Jennifer Smith, Nancy Howard, and Jeff Robertson. City Council Members present were: City Council President Tim McNish, Mark Tunstall, Chuck Folks and Bruce Liese. City Clerk Sandy Nichols was present. BZA member Roger Bartels was present.

Planning Consultant John Riggs was present. Mr. Riggs had been invited by the Planning Commission to present information regarding the role of the Planning Commission, City Council and BZA. Members of each group were invited to attend.

Mr. Riggs presented and discussed several hand-outs. Questions were asked and discussed.

It was recommended not to use Robert’s Rule of Order. “General” Robert’s Rule of Order could be used.

It was stated, the Planning Commission before rezoning property, should know what the intended use of the property was going to be.

8:55 Council Member Tim McNish left.

9:15 Chuck made a motion to adjourn. Mark seconded the motion.
