Hackathorn, Paul Maline
Absent: Darby Lohrding, Kim Richter
Visitors: Bruce Liese, Roy Paslay

Approval of Minutes: Nancy motioned and Jeff seconded to approve the September minutes with one correction – Briesen was spelled wrong – it should be Breason. The minutes were approved unanimously with the exception of Susie, who abstained. Nancy motioned and Jennifer seconded to approve October minutes. The minutes were approved unanimously, with Susie and Jeff abstaining.

Presentation of Requests and Petitions: None

Notices and Communications:
Jeff and Jennifer attended the Douglas County Planning Commission meeting on October 23. They were considering additions to a boat storage facility within 3 miles of Lecompton. The decision on this building goes before the county commission on Dec 10 – the Planning Commission will recommend that it be approved.

Reports of Standing and Special Committees: None

Old Business:
The Commission discussed recent building by the Leslie family. The building permit has already been issued and the houses built. The Lecompton Zoning Ordinance requires a lot split in this case but one was not made. The family has agreed internally to split the property but they need to make sure it squares with ordinance. The legal paperwork needs to be done properly. To facilitate this process, the Mayor will look into the legal description of the property and in whose name it’s in.

New Business:
The P&Z Commission will review and make recommendations for amending its bylaws at next meeting. Also, it will request 3-ring binders from the City Commission.

The Commission discussed briefly the former McClure property near the Farmer’s Turnpike. The house has been demolished and the new owners may build a retreat. This is under the jurisdiction of the Douglas County Planning Commission, but it may fall within 3 miles of Lecompton City limits.

Jeff Robertson motioned, and Paul seconded, to adjourn the meeting – approved unanimously.
Jennifer Smith adjourned the meeting.

Minutes prepared by Susie Hackathorn.
