March 9, 2009 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
6:02 P.M. Council President Mark Tunstall brought the Lecompton City Council special meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Jimmy Wilkins, Christy Mallonee, Jennifer Smith and Tim McNish were present. Mayor Roy Paslay was absent. Also present were the following: City Superintendent, Justin Van Winkle, City Clerk, Sandy Nichols and City Attorney Lee Hendricks. Resident Elsie Middleton was present.
The Special Meeting was called to review and sign easement and purchase agreements between the City of Lecompton and Carolyn and Scott Stewart; Also to discuss the dump truck.
Lee presented copies of signed Real Estate and Easement Purchase Agreement signed by Carolyn and Scott Stewart. Lee stated when he receives the original signed papers the mayor would need to sign then Lee would complete the process. Jennifer made a motion to give the mayor authority to sign on behave of the city to complete easement and purchase of the Stewart property. Tim seconded the motion and the vote passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
There was discussion regarding repair of the dump truck bed and purchase price of a new bed. Justin is to get a bid from American Equipment to repair the current bed, new tailgate, and a tarp. This information is to be presented at the March 16th meeting.
6:17 P.M. Jimmy made a motion to adjourn. Jennifer seconded the motion and the vote passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
