JULY 30, 2009 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL HEARING MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Paslay brought the Lecompton City Council Special Hearing Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Jimmy Wilkins, Christy Mallonee, Mark Tunstall, and Tim McNish, were present. Jennifer Smith was absent. Also present was Sandy Nichols, City Clerk and resident Larry Cyr.
Larry Cyr present information that he was working out of town and had requested his utilities be shut of Dec. 2, 2008 as he would be gone all 2009 on a job. Mr. Cyr stated he had paid $103.00 and wanted the deposit applied to the remainder of the bill. In November 2005 he had agreed to pay sewer only, July 2007 the city started charging all utilities. When the city would not apply his deposit to the bill, Ms Tompkins paid $100.00. Mr. Cyr stated he has returned to mow, attend a funeral, and home when ill for a couple of weeks. He does come back and check on his place. He has friends and family he stays with. After discussion Jimmy made a motion for Mr. Cyr to pay $117.72 that was due in January 2008, plus sewer to the current date, and shut off fee of $30. Trash fee is to be waived. Christy seconded the motion. The vote passed 4 yeas, 0 nays. It was noted the $100 deposit is still on the account.
7:40 P.M. Jimmy made a motion to adjourn. Mark seconded the motion and the vote passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
