FEBRUARY 18, 2014 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. Council member Jimmy Wilkins attended the start of the meeting but had to leave. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts, City Treasurer Ronald Thacker and City Accountant Jim Long. No city or township residents were present in the audience.
Susie Hackathorn motioned to approve the February 03, 2014 City Council Meeting Minutes. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the council. Tim McNish seconded the motion..
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Jim Long, CPA with Karlin and Long accounting firm presented the 2013 Audit of the City of Lecompton Financials.
Tim McNish motioned to accept the 2013 Audit. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.

Rance –
– Class in Wamego Feb 19th/20th through KMU
– Ordered Aerator pump through Patchen, should be here in a couple weeks.
– Central salt/out of salt/no salt to sell
– PRIDE building update on leak/also Pat Leming w/ New Era Roofing
Communications:
Lynley –
– Request for St. light on N. Elmore between 3rd/2nd street.
– Health insurance update on quotes
– Kevin Dark Building update
Old Business –
– Allen Jack administrative warrant received.
– Ball field electricity update: Freezers are plugged in with food in them, not school districts food. Sandy may talk to Dr. Yoder. Anyone who wants to use the ball field or concessions needs to get approval from USD 343 for lights or concessions.
– CB Flooring – city matching funds – contact Jim Long and see what he suggests would be a reasonable/affordable amount for the city to match.
– Lower bill – got it lowered to $681.00
New Business –
– Snow removal – Thank you from the council
Elsie Middleton motioned to reimburse Jimmy for the expense of the gift cards included with the Thank you Cards for Lynley and Rance. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.

– Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to pay out 40 hrs. of Rance Roberts comp time. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

Announcements-
House and Senate Bill moving elections to odd numbered years, Mayor Sandy Jacquot has sent testimony and messages to the senate committee in opposition of the Bill’s. Hopefully it will not pass.
– For next meeting: Road work/repairs – Chip n’ seal
– Phil Hart looked at the meter/water pressure issue at the old gym – may want to look into replacing the meter – and new line, which is 1 ¼”. Develop a plan on what to do (Rance) and inform the council
