FEBRUARY 17, 2015 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Jimmy Wilkins, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Treasurer Ronald Thacker. Residents attending included Owen Mallonee
Susie Hackathorn motioned to approve the February 02, 2015 City Council Meeting Minutes. Jimmy Wilkins seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the council. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Owen Mallonee presented building and Electrical upgrade plans for his home at 548 Whitfield. Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to pre-approve a building permit for Owen contingent on the application being filled out, filed and the permit/inspection fee paid. Jimmy Wilkins seconded the motion.

Ron Thacker – January month end financial report.
Rance –
– Discussion of water received from RWD #3 – Council would like a representative to come talk to them at next meeting.
Lynley
– Tax appeal approved by county – has to go to board of tax appeals
– Contacted contractors for updated bids on CB floor repairs
– Requested Council opinion on renewing notary public – council gave “go ahead.”
– Sales tax public hearing – post info at post office and on sign if possible.
Old Business –
– Special Election Sales Tax Increase Resolution #293. Susie motioned to approve resolution #293 allowing for a special election question to increase sales tax in the City of Lecompton. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

– Review health insurance premium if adding Sharron Roberts to Rance Roberts plan. At this time the council has declined.
New Business –
– AT&T Claim update – Letter from Lawyer Jeff Heiman has been sent
– Coffee/Breakfast with Marci Francisco: March 6th (Friday) at 8:30am
– Elsie: E-accelerator program, wanting to hold meeting in Lecompton – Saturday February 28th at 10am
Announcements:
– Bowling March 7th @ 6:30 pm for Territorial Day fundraiser at Royal Crest Lanes, Lawrence KS.
