March 16, 2015 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Jimmy Wilkins, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts, City and City Treasurer Ronald Thacker. Residents attending included Leo and Peggy Wenger, Paul Bahnmaier, Jon Morris, Chris and Sarah Teefey, Fred Rice, Vickie Marino, and Charlene Winter

Susie Hackathorn motioned to approve the March 2, 2015 City Council Meeting Minutes and the March 14th 2015, Special City Council Meeting Minutes with one correction to the March 2nd minutes, to remove the extra Easter Egg Hunt Information. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.

Jimmy Wilkin motioned to approve the bills before the council. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.

Vickie Marino – Requesting a donation for Territorial Day.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to donate $1500 to the Territorial Day Committee. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.

Ron Thacker – February month end financial report. Discussed C.D.’s up for renewal, general consensus of the council is to allow the C.D’s to roll over.

Communications

Rance –
– Road salt – we won’t need our second load, and probably won’t need any for next year. Council requested that we go ahead and get on the bid sheet that Douglas County will have just in case.

Lynley –
– Inform council about Dog issue with Vicky Well’s dog’s – sent kind notice regular mail – waiting to hear from complainant to see if the issue continues, if it does City will set live trap and send dogs to the pound.
– Complaint about alley entrance that needs repaired between Halderman/Elmore. Look at it when we do street repairs

Old Business –
– Heritage Grant submission – informed only 14 applicants this year.
– Newsletter final review – general consensus of council that it is ready for print.
– K10 West-leg update

New Business –
– Roy Paslay: extension on building permit: Tim McNish motioned to extend Roy Paslay’s building permit for another 90 days. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion. Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
– Kathy Paslay vacancy on planning commission, Mayor Sandy Jacquot will look to see if Martin Huerter is interested in the position.

8:15PM – Jimmy Wilkins motioned to adjourn. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.
