July 6, 2015 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Jimmy Wilkins, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Attorney Jeff Heiman. Residents attending included Belinda Janes and City Accountant Jim Long.
Elsie Middleton motioned to approve the June 15th,2015 City Council Meeting Minutes. Jimmy Wilkins seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the bills before the council. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Jim Long – presented the 2016 budget to the City Council. The council reviewed and discussed the budget.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the budget for publication. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.

Mayor Sandra Jacquot opened the public hearing for Belinda Janes property violation. Belinda Janes shared what improvements have been made on the property since the last meeting. The Council discussed and reviewed photos. General consensus of the council was that the property has continued to show improvement over the last few months. The mayor requested a determination.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned that the violation of abatement be dismissed because the nuisance had been satisfied by the property owner. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.

– Provided contract for CB work for review – council suggested some changes – will be available for the July 20th meeting for approval.
Rance –
– Water tower clean out – report
– Water leak at city park – report
– Talk with RWD #3 about flush out at the RWD#3 Building on Clark St.
Lynley –
– Vacation from 13th-17th
– Conditional Use Permit meeting update: meeting moved to July 22 and 6pm
– Flooring samples for tile floor – Have Justin come to next meeting to talk about options.
– Budget hearing set for 7/20/2015 at 6:45pm
Old Business –
– Territorial Day report – final check to fun services – next year will be the 160th anniversary of the battle at Fort Titus. This year was the first year that Territorial Days had such a surplus of funds afterwards.
– Beverly Thrower – property review – council viewed photos and requested that a letter be sent to Beverly Thrower to attend the next meeting for discussion.
– Falk resident on Whitfield – a letter to the property owner and resident needs to be sent regarding the yard and trash.
