September 21, 2015 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Council President Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Elsie Middleton and Susie Hackathorn were present at roll call. Mayor Sandy Jacquot was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. Residents attending included Jamin Nally
Elsie Middleton motioned to approve the September 08, 2015 City Council Meeting Minutes. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion. With one correction, to remove the name Tim out of the meeting minute approval sentence
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Tim McNish motioned to approve the bills before the council. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Rance –
– Class Wednesday in Holton
– Still doing Street work
– Donating water to Bald Eagle Rendezvous
– Fixing USD 343 driveway with asphalt millings
Lynley –
– USD 343 bus’s use 7th street – Council said it was decided on when 7th street was overlaid that the heavy traffic of the bus’s would tear up the street to much, plus it is to narrow and dangerous for buses to be driving on. Still no.
– Review interim report for Heritage Grant, will submit by Friday.
Jamin Nally reported Planning Commission news, change of meeting times, to twice per year in January and July on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month at 7pm in Lecompton City Hall.
New Business –
– Santa for kids/park lighting ceremony – November 28th debut – check on cost of Santa suit – purchase vs. rental – Aunt Netters handle cookies, order candy canes and see if fire dept. will deliver Santa on the Fire Truck.
– Rules for CB poster, review/discuss next meeting
– Replacement folding chairs/tables
– Paint colors for kitchen/entry way
7:27 PM – Elsie Middleton motioned to adjourn. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.
