March 07, 2016 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Jimmy Wilkins, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Attorney Jeff Heiman. Residents or township members included Jamin Nally, and Stephanie Confer.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the February 16, 2016 minutes; Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the council. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.

E- Communities requested to use City funds to pay for printing and postage for E-community business mailers.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to print 1000 post cards and pay for postage in the 66050 zip code for E- Communities project, total project to be under $500. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

– Update on real estate values for the City. 2016 total = $1597280.00, which is down about $33580.00 from last year.
New Business –
– Newsletter – review put on next agenda for approval
Old Business –
– Received letter from Dr. Yoder regarding patching drive for USD#343 at Lane University, it states that the school district will pay for the materials to do the repairs and then pay for the chip n’ seal. City agrees that the time the superintendent will be providing to make repairs will not be charged to the school district.
– Re-submitt banking fund collection service. Council agreed at this time they do not see it as a service we need.
– Emergency Management – Rance and Lynley will attend on March 22
– Lagoon pad – issues with groups of people parking on the pad to drive 4×4 vehicles on adjoining property.
Council would like to confirm who owns the property to the East (used to be Charles Nehrbass) Will also be looking into finding the property pins around the pad area – will re-discuss at second meeting in March.
