August 1, 2016 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

6:45 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Budget hearing to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Jimmy Wilkins, Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. Susie Hackathorn was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Attorney Jeff Heiman. Residents or township members included David Hogg.

Mayor Jacquot present the 2017 Budget, and asked if anyone had any questions or concerns. No comments were made. Tim McNish motioned to approve the 2017 Budget as proposed. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

6:50pm Mayor Sandra Jacquot closed the budget hearing.

Attorney Jeff Heiman had a personal emergency and the council agreed he could leave.

Elsie Middleton motioned to approve the July 18th, 2016 minutes with two corrections. Jimmy Wilkins seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the bills before the council. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

David Hogg – Presented resolution no. 296 regarding the multi-jurisdictional debris management plan.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the resolution. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

Ordinance no. 819 increasing residential sewer rates by $1/month and commercial rates to $20.28/month beginning January 1, 2017.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the Ordinance number 819, Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Rance –
– Update about road work, cleaning ditches, wastewater school and testing.

Lynley –
– Checks for Peoples bank, endorsement stamp and deposit slips have been ordered.
– Transfer funds to Peoples bank. Call Central Bank of the Midwest and see how much an EFT would cost to transfer to new bank.

Old Business
– Tree services in park, after reviewing the bids, council asked that Lynley call and confirm that the work quoted includes haul off. Report back at next meeting.
