October 3, 2016 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn were present at roll call. Elsie Middleton and Jimmy Wilkins were absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. Residents or township members included Jamin Nally.

Susie Hackathorn motioned to approve the September 19th, 2016 minutes. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3 yeas, 0 nays.

Tim McNish motioned to approve the bills before the council. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3 yeas, 0 nays

Council reviewed the quote from Aunt Netters Café to provide the lasagna dinner for the Pride thank you dinner. Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the quote with the caveat that it could be less. Susie seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3 yeas, 0 nays.

Rance –
– CL-17 maintenance contract up for renewal – Tim McNish motioned to approve the contract. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion Passed: 3 yeas, 0 nays.
– Elmore dip being repaired on Tuesday (tomorrow)

Lynley –
– Update at 409 Whitfield – asked for more time
– Update n roof at PRIDE – Alpha roofing said it was in pretty okay shape, estimates it has another 5 years before needing replaced.
– Had a contractor come in and look at the Community Building bathrooms, but haven’t received the bid yet. Council said they want vinyl tiles, not porcelain.
– Tree guys have us scheduled for park, probably one more week before they could get to us.
– Newsletter – after getting changes from Mary Jane, it looks good – send it out.

Old Business
– Mayor Jacquot – has a food policy survey she would like us to take – Lynley will forward it to everyone.

New Business
– Reported Pitbull dog attacked a neighbors mini-pin – at the small trailer park – dog is not registered with the City: Council advised to send letter regarding insurance for the Pitbull and that the dog needs to be registered.
– Mayor Jacquot reported to the council about the Douglas County Emergency Management Table Top Exercise – that it brought forth some things that we need to think about for emergency situations and to coordinate efforts with the Lecompton Fire Department and township.

7:30PM – Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to adjourn. Susie Hackathorn seconded the motion.
