January 03, 2017 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Council President Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Mary Jane Hoffer, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. Mayor Sandra Jacquot and Councilman Tim McNish was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. There were no Residents or township members.
Susie Hackathorn motioned to approve the December 19th, 2016 minutes with corrections. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

Rance –
– Talked to the council about RWD #3 interest in the City of Lecompton purchasing more water from the Rural water district. The council would like to have the clerk look into the current cost of water production for the City and will revisit this at the next council meeting if possible.
Lynley –
– Review elevator maintenance contract with Interstate Elevator. Contract increased $43.76 for this year. Council consensus was to renew the contract payable at next council meeting
– Review Environmental Labs wastewater analysis contract, an increase of $51 per month for wastewater grabs and analysis. Council requested the clerk poll the clerks list serve to see if any other City’s have a different company they go through for this service.
Old Business
– Follow up on sidewalk proposal – Elsie Middleton further discussed sidewalk options and wanting to proceed with either setting aside funds or looking into federal grants to improve and add additional sidewalks in our city.
New Business
– G.A.A.P Waiver Resolution 297. Susie Hackathorn motioned to pass G.A.A.P waiver, resolution number 297. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
