January 22, 2019 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Mary Jane Hoffer, Elsie Middleton, Jimmy Wilkins and Stephanie Confer were present at roll call. Council Member Tim McNish was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. Resident or township members attending included Pam and Kent Wingert.

Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the meeting minutes for both January 7th and January 14th, 2019. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the City Council. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

The City council reviewed the application from Pam and Kent Wingert for the Re-Plat of the South-crest Subdivision. The City Planning Commission recommends this re-plat for approval. The council discussed utilities and road termination.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the re-plat of the South crest subdivision taking the remaining 22 lots and making them 1 large lot. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion, further discussion that utilities were not being vacated. Council agreed the utility easements were remaining.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

New Business –
– Complaint about dog at 619 Whitfield lot 2A, complaint that the Pitbull when put out on a lead bark, jumps at acts aggressively towards individuals walking by.
– E – Communities is providing 6-8 scholarships for individuals in Lecompton who are interested in attending the Leadership Douglas County Class Sessions. This is an introduction to leadership principles and civic engagement. Classes will be held one Thursday per month for February, March, April and May. City Clerk will contact the list of people that were considered during a brainstorming session.

Due to the inclement weather the City council decided that the majority of the items on the agenda would be put on the next agenda for February.

7:25PM – Elsie Middleton motioned to adjourn. Stephanie Confer seconded the motion.
