January 21, 2020 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Confer, Tim McNish were present at roll call. Council Member Owen Mallonee was absent and City Clerk Lynley Sanford was absent. The following were also present: City Superintendent Rance Roberts Residents or township members attending included Lori Wilkins

Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the meeting minutes for the January 6th, 2020, with one correction to council man Tim McNish’s name. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Tim McNish motioned to approve the bills before the City Council. Matt Roberts seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

Rance Roberts –
– Well #1 leaking since last council meeting. Leaking near the power supply, some external digging around the casing. It pumps uphill, spoke with Torgeson for repair – weather permitting for bid to repair.
Theory is a hole in line coming up from well, when it stops pumping, we loose water that’s in the line.
– Sewer projection 20’ exposed sewer line (next meeting). 4”- PVC Sewer line, investigate for sewer line crossing the creek.

Lynley Sanford –
– Tim McNish motioned to approve the resolution for Lecompton being a PRIDE community for 2020. Double check to make sure correct resolution is on form. Stephanie Confer seconded the motion
Motion passed 4 yes, 0 nays

– Council discussed the roll off bin 2 – 8 yard containers would cost $135/month. Council decided to pass for now.
– Dog issues – Report that a dog off leash came onto the property at 608 Whitfield and was aggressive towards the woman of the home. The dog that resides at the property budged the foreign dog out of the way and the woman was okay. Stray dog allegedly lives at 619 Whitfield Lot A5. Council decided that a letter should be sent to the owner 10 days or before next council meeting
– The year-end review for 2019 was unavailable at the meeting, so the council was unable to review. Have available at next council meeting.

– Electric inspection permits for Lecompton MHP 619 Whitfield new connections at 3B &6A
Tim McNish motioned to approve electric inspection permits once payment is received. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

– Employee insurance policy renewal for 2020. Increase in policy premium of 281.21. Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the renewal as proposed. Matt Roberts seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

7:29 PM – Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to adjourn. Stephanie Confer seconded the motion.
