July 6, 2021 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore St. Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Owen Mallonee and Matt Roberts were present at roll call. Council woman Stephanie Confer was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. Residents or township members in attendance included Elsie Middleton and Susan Wood.

Owen Mallonee motioned to approve the meeting minutes for the June 21, 2021. Matt Roberts seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the council, Owen Mallonee seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Elsie Middleton asked the council what the improvements were behind her property on Elmore. There was some confusion, there are no alley improvements being discussed behind her property on North Elmore Street. The updates for alley improvements at 432 Elmore continues to be an on-going conversation with no current updates.

Old Business –
– Shoulder work in front of 540 E. Woodson. Ask whomever did the entrance to the alley there.

New Business –
– City Council reviewed electrical bid for lift station and lagoon services. The council asked for some changes to the bids, please update for next meeting.
– Shared information for red bricks and storied structure conference.
– Reviewed question from residence regarding driveway. Council looked at pictures an road way, they were okay with it, but this project will be at property owners expense for tube and grading.
– 449 Whitfield complaint about the drainage ditch being too steep to mow. Would like the city to haul in rock or do hardscaping. City council said this is a property owners issue, we could refer to business to hardscape, but up to the property owner to handle.

Rance Roberts
– Discussed effluent water notice from KDHE and how we are mitigating to come back into compliance.

Lynley Sanford
– KDOT – Signatures on sidewalk contract.
– Reviewed information from KRAW regarding ransomware and phishing schemes.

Additional business –
– Discussed selling the old skidsteer and the large trailer. Council agrees to list it on Purple-wave.

8:02 PM – Matt Roberts motioned to adjourn. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
