August 16, 2021 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore St. Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Confer, and Owen Mallonee were present at roll call. Councilman Matt Roberts was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and City Superintendent Rance Roberts. Residents or township members in attendance included Susan Wood and Ashley Byers.

Owen Mallonee motioned to approve the meeting minutes for the August 2, 2021. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Tim McNish motioned to approve the bills before the council, Stephanie Confer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays

Ashley Byers with Douglas County MPO Bicycle committee reviewed the county wide bike plant. The Transportation plan was approved by the county July 8th, 2021.
Stephanie Confer motioned to approve the County Wide Bike plan. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.

Old Business –
– City Council reviewed 2 bids for the lift station upgrades on 2nd street. Owen Mallonee motioned approve the bid from Kaw Valley Electrical. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motioned passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
– City Council reviewed 2 bids for transferring power supply from an old pole to the new pole at the lagoons. Owen Mallonee motioned to approve the bid from Kaw Valley Electrical. Stephanie Confer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
– Alley behind 432 Elmore update: After the meeting on August 2nd, The Mayor, Tim McNish our street MPO, Owen Mallonee and Rance Roberts went to look and measure distance of alley improvement. The council is looking to move forward on the project.
– Digital sign at park marquee – no new updates
– 339 Halderman update – The letter had not been sent to Great KC Realty yet. The council reviewed pictures of property and decided they would like to move forward with sending the letter to the realty company providing 10 days to improve. Council will review at next regular council meeting and then decided to proceed on record of violation or not.

New Business –

Rance Roberts
– Chip n’seal and patching work being on Wednesday 8/18. Patching should cost around $3200.00

Lynley Sanford
– Special meeting on Monday 8/23 for budget hearing and Revenue Neutrail Rate hearing at 6:50pm.
