City Council Meeting Minutes August 15, 2022

August 15, 2022 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore St. Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Confer, Owen Mallonee and Matt Roberts were present at roll call. City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Clerk Lynley Sanford were also present. The following residents or township members were also present: Glen Corel and Susan Wood.

Stephanie Confer motioned to approve the meeting minutes for August 1st, 2022. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion. Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays

Matt Roberts motioned to approve the bills before the council, Owen Mallonee seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays

Ivan Corel issue with his neighbor regarding fence location along property line. The neighbor is going to move their fence, but Ivan is wanting to put up his own fence. He wanted to make sure it is okay for him to put up his fence on his portion of the Alley right of way? The Council asked that Jeff be consulted to clarify where the fence can be located in regards to the alley and then let Glen know.

Rance –
– Estimate on air relief valve for the high service pump – its’ on back order, the one we ordered back in December still has not arrived. Would like to have one on the shelf in case it goes bad on the other pump. Council agreed to order it.
– Controller systems a.k.a “Tonka Box” – did not find recommendations for other programming company’s for the water-plant control system.

Lynley –
– Double checking to make sure no additional budget changes before publishing the RNR and Budget hearing. That meeting is set for 9/6 at 6:55pm

Old Business
– Curb inlet box – 2 previous companies have not come out to look at what is needed. Mayor Wilkins will get Jetmore Construction out to see if they can come up with a plan for erosion control and safety for that spot.

– De-annexation Planning Commission special meeting date is set for August 24th at 6:30p. Update provided at the next City Council meeting 9/6/2022.
New Business
– Reviewed report from Sandy Gantz turn out from summer reading program.

7:37 PM – Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to adjourn. Stephanie Confer seconded the motion.
