April 24, 2023 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
6:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore St. Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Confer, Steve Freeman and Owen Mallonee were present at roll call. City Superintendent Rance Roberts and City Clerk Lynley Sanford were also present. No residents, township residents or other people were present.
The City Council discussed matters pertaining to non-elected personnel.
6:49PM Stephanie Confer motioned to go into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss matters of non-elected personnel. Mary Jane Hoffer seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
7:04pm – Mayor Wilkins called the meeting back into open session.
Stephanie Confer motioned to increase pay by 8% for employees Rance Roberts and Lynley Sanford, retroactive to April 1st at 40 hours each week. Leaving the accrual rate of vacation and sick time the same, leaving the accrual of sick time maxed at 1040hrs, increasing the maximum of vacation time to 320 hrs, vacation can now roll over, but will no longer be paid out at the end of the year. Vacation will not accrue above 320 hrs, No accrual of comp time will be allowed, any overtime worked will be paid out as it occurs. Current comp time balance will be paid out at a time of the employee’s choice by the end of this calendar year. Owen Mallonee seconded the motion.
