October 5, 2023 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
3:00 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Special Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore St. Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Freeman, and Steve Freeman were present at roll call. Council Member Owen Mallonee was absent. City Clerk Lynley Sanford was also present.. The following residents or township members present included: Lori Wilkins, Jason Hoskinson. Elsie Middleton came late into the meeting.
City Council met with BG Consultant Jason Hoskinson regarding the KDOT sidewalk project.
Jason clarified that the design engineering costs and what the city has already spent towards this project should not be considered towards the additional amount of what is willing to be spent in the construction phase of the project.
Jason state that the preliminary rough estimate costs for the construction engineering is estimated to be around $150,000. And that cost is included in the KDOT range.
Steve Freeman motioned to rescind the motion for approving the matching funds amount of $233,000 originally made at the October 2nd meeting. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Stephanie Confer motioned to approve the city to spend $285,000 for matching funds towards the KDOT sidewalk improvement grant. Tim McNish seconded the motion.
