Old Business: None
New Business:
– The commission discussed how to acquire and zone property for the city water tower. The city is considering condemning and purchasing the property. It could be annexed to the city or not annexed and left in the county. It will require a special use permit regardless of what the land is zoned, because of the height (just over 150 feet). Zoning affects the property as well as the surrounding properties, so it is important to think about long-range plans for the area. Right now it is zoned agricultural. It is surrounded by land that is zoned agricultural and residential.
Study Session: The commission reviewed the Multi-Jurisdictional Mitigation plan. This has to be completed before the city will be able to apply to FEMA for disaster relief. Sandy completed it and returned it. We need to attend meetings and complete forms in order to be able to be eligible for FEMA resources.
Adjourn: Paul moved, Mary Jane seconded to adjourn the meeting, passed unanimously. Jeff adjourned the meeting at 8:00.
