Notice of Meeting to Elect Directors to the Governing Body for the Perry Lecompton Community Library District No. 2

Perry-Lecompton Community Library will be electing a governing body on Thursday January 22, 2026.

Per statute K.S.A 12-1238 and 12-1241, the district must elect seven (7) board members; there are no provisions for geographic distribution of board members at this time. If the newly elected board, in the course of establishing bylaws for the district library, wishes to include a provision for the geographic distribution for board member seats, they may do so after
the new board is elected.
For the purposes of electing the initial board, seven (7) board members will be elected to the following positions:

Position1: One-Year Term – Term expires April 2027 Election results for this meeting: Seventh-most number of
votes

Position 2: Two-Year Term – Term expires April 2028 Election results for this meeting: Sixth-most number of votes

Position 3: Two-Year Term – Term expires April 2028 Election results for this meeting: Fifth-most number of votes

Position 4: Three-Year Term – Term expires April 2029 Election results for this meeting: Fourth-most number of votes

Position 5: Three-Year Term – Term Expires April 2029 Election results Third-most number of votes.

Position 6: Four-Year Term -Term Expires April 2030 Election results Second-most number of votes

Position 7: Four-Year Term – Term Expires April 2030 Election results Most number of votes

Per statue K.S.A 12-1241- Upon expiration of the term of any director, his or her successor shall be elected for a term of four (4) years that expires the First Tuesday of April of the fourth year following the election. Any positions that are vacant prior to the expiration shall be appointed by the chairman of said board and endorsed and approved with majority vote for an unexpired term with the same terms of the original election.

The qualified voters of Library District No. 2, County of Jefferson, State of Kansas will meet on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Perry-Lecompton Community Library, 203 West Bridge Street (West side of building) Perry, KS for the purpose of electing seven (7) directors to act as the governing body of said library district.
