March 25, 2026 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

6:30 P.M. Mayor Jimmy Wilkins brought the Lecompton City Council Special Meeting to order at 630 E. Woodson Ave., Lecompton, KS. Council Members Mary Jane Hoffer, Stephanie Confer, Steve Freeman, Troy Clark and Norraine Wingfield were present at roll call. City Clerk Lynley Sanford was also present. Residents or township members present included the following: Janie Grandstaff, Joanna Long, Debra Fuston, Frank Carter, Nick Sanford, Karen Ice, Elsie Middleton, Keith and Carol Noe, Benton Peugh, Cynthia Breitenbach, Penny Bahret, Deb Powell, Gary Powell, Carter Klise, Dore Jones, Kayla Jones, Nancy Gantz, Jeremey Allen, Rachael Allen, Paul Bahnmaier, Jessica Zullig, Trish Blanchat, Zabrina Starnes, Nicola Kanaman, Russell Matthews, Gretchen Reed, Larry Hale, Dave Kellum, Kristin Gantz, Dave Burbank, Connie Robertson, Mary Boose, Sherri Neill, Jeff Goodrick, Karen McConnell, Georgia Trammel, Pat & Angie Winchester, Roy Paslay, Marsha Paslay, Carol Howard, Scott Norris, Gina Clement, Scot Clement, Elvin Starnes, Fred Gantz, Sandy Gantz, Mark Kasson, Ky Kanaman, Ron Thacker, Karmell Thacker, Jeffery Kirk, and Trevor Boissonneault.

Mayor Wilkins explained the meeting would function in an open-house style and invited the public to view the information posters, tour the building, ask questions, complete a survey and drop it in the drop box.

Mayor Wilkins also addressed that a representative from a local community group was handing out information outside the gymnasium. The information provided in that flier has many inaccuracies.

The council gathered as the crowd dwindled. Surveys will be collected at City Hall until Tuesday March 31st. Then a small group will get together to tally the results of the survey for presentation.

7:31pm – Stephanie Confer motioned to adjourn. Troy Clark seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5 yeas, 0 nays.
