June 4, 2018 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer Jimmy Wilkins, Susie Hackathorn and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford and Superintendent Rance Roberts. Lecompton residents and township members included Jeff Goodrick, Jamin Nally, and Roy Paslay.
Jimmy Wilkins motioned to approve the May 21st, 2018 City council Meeting Minutes with one correction. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the bills before the council. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

Rance
– Update on Lagoons and how effective the Barley straw seems to be working. Repaired one aerator motor, found another one that was bad. Ordered 2 more motors, will be replacing soon.
– Water main broke on Jones Street at the Corp-stop. Everything is repaired now.
Lynley –
– Waiting on bids for water tower light
– Waiting on bids for doors at community building
– Waiting on bids for waterline from 5th to Woodson
– Waiting on roofing bids for Pride building
Old Business
– Sewer service for downtown businesses, reviewed sewer inspection. Council discussed options for how to proceed. Council asked to put this on the next agenda. Rance will check the fall/elevation before next meeting.
– Update that resolution 301 has been published for the show cause hearing on lots at 334 Clark St. “A” and “D”. Hearing will be July 2nd.
– Fun services contract was finally corrected – approved at prior meeting – Mayor will sign contract and payments will be mailed. All carnival rides/inflatables/zip-line have had inspection certificates provided as well as proof of liability insurance.
New Business
– Pre 2019 Budget discussion. Jim Long will be at the next meeting to discuss the 2019 budget. Council talked about possibly increasing the budget, but not sure how much because of the tax lid. Also, sewer rates, we know our lagoons will need work in the near future; the sewer fund was underfunded last year by about $800. 00 Look at possibly increasing sewer rates. See what Jim Long recommends.
– Fallen tree in alley between Isaacs and Elmore. The Mayor authorized cleanup of the tree. Insurance company indicated that a filed claim would be denied. Roy Paslay was present and Jeff Goodrick. The tree landed on Roy Paslay’s shed causing roof and gutter damage. The council requested a claim be submitted. Make sure to include the cost of the repairs for the roof/gutters on the shed.
