November 5th, 2018 LECOMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
7:00 P.M. Mayor Sandy Jacquot brought the Lecompton City Council Meeting to order at 327 Elmore, Lecompton, KS. Council Members Tim McNish, Mary Jane Hoffer, Jimmy Wilkins, and Elsie Middleton were present at roll call. Council woman Susie Hackathorn was absent. The following were also present: City Clerk Lynley Sanford, Superintendent Rance Roberts and City attorney Jeff Heiman. Lecompton residents or township members included Aaron Frits with KDOT, Marcus Geist with HNTB, Carol & Keith Noe, Roy & Marsha Paslay, Sam Smith, Karen Ice, Charlene Winter, Paul Bahnmaier, Helen & Marguerite Ermeling, Ed Daniels, Greg Burger, Tammy & Jeff Morris, David Ross, Lyle Fergus, Jamin Nally and Casey Quigley.
Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the City Council Meeting Minutes from October 15th, 2018 Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.
Motion passed 4 yeas, 0 nays
Tim McNish motioned to approve the bills before the council. Jimmy Wilkins seconded the motion.

Aaron Frits with KDOT presented a power-point presentation regarding the environmental impact study for the K10/South Lawrence Traffic way. The presentation lasted about 15 min. there was minimal public discussion.
Jeff Heiman –
– No updates. The City council did request that the attorney send a resident a letter regarding her dog.
Rance –
– Provided an update on the wrecked blue car on Halderman St. the owners plan to move it this weekend. There was an issue with an insurance company, and they were waiting for the determination to dispose of the car.
Lynley –
– No updates
Old Business –
– Council reviewed feedback from the list serve clerks regarding municipal courts
New Business –
– Building permit no. 18-271 – Kyle and Jessica Herschell for new garage/storage building. Mary Jane Hoffer motioned to approve the permit pending plan review approval from Douglas County. Elsie Middleton seconded the motion.

– The council discussed holding a trick o’ treat on Elmore street next Halloween to encourage youngsters to trick o’ treat in our community. They thought it was a good idea, the City clerk will work with other community members to get info to the public for next year’s event.
– The clerk was asked to check with Inland waste to see where they were dumping trash and recycling. Brady Reimer with Inland waste replied via e-mail stating they use Hamm’s. The council discussed issues with the large capacity recycle bin on Clark St. always being full, and asked if the Clerk would request either an additional dump day or an extra bin to relieve congestion.
